The alleged killer of road crash victim Catrin Schaefer faces a January trial after pleading not guilty to manslaughter charges
yesterday.
Mauritius-born chef Bissoonduthsing Ramchurn also pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court to charges of causing death while impaired, causing death while over the limit, and causing death by dangerous driving.
Miss Schaefer, 23, was on a one-week study trip from Dusseldorf University to the Bermuda Biological Station for Research when she died in the crash on Kindley Field Road, St. George's, on September 27.
Chief Justice Austin Ward set the trial date for January 3 after hearing that there were a number of witnesses that were currently studying overseas.
